Foodie fans, get excited. Chef Massimo Bottura, the mastermind behind three Michelin-starred Osteria Francescana is opening a restaurant in Dubai later this year.

The chef, who saw Osteria Francescana crowned number one in the World’s 50 Best Restaurants this year, will open a more casual venue in Dubai, called Torno Subito.

Set to be his first restaurant outside of Italy, the venue describes that it will take ‘guests on a journey back to 1960s Italy, where the vibe is sophisticated and social, but laidback’.

The promise of a roaming gelato cart has already got us excited…

Food will be available both indoors and on the terrace, and will even be available to order for a picnic on the lagoon or to your bed at the beach.

Open for lunch and dinner, no opening date has yet been revealed, but with a projected hotel opening of October this year, we’re anticipating the restaurant will be soon after.

Bottura is one of two celebrity chef’s who are set to make their Dubai debut at the hotel this year. Akira Back, the adrenaline-fueled Korean culinary master will also be bringing his signature Japanese fine dining fare to Dubai.

When it opens later this year, W Dubai The Palm will be home to 350 guest rooms, including 58 suites. There will be a big leisure and spa focus too, with the region’s first AWAY Spa which combines a lively atmosphere with the ultimate pampering experience, a wet deck that sets the scene for poolside play, and a state-of-the-art gym.
