Hoseki, which means gemstone in Japanese, will offer gastronomic dishes using the “finest ingredients directly imported from Japan”
Luxury hotel Bulgari Resort Dubai has announced the opening of a Japanese restaurant with just nine seats for diners seeking an “ultra-exclusive” experience.
Hoseki, which means gemstone in Japanese, will offer gastronomic dishes using the “finest ingredients directly imported from Japan” on the fourth floor of the hotel.
Japanese chef Masahiro Sugiyama, the sixth generation of a sushi restaurant in Tokyo, will offer a two-hour Omakasa experience with dishes selected based on diners’ preferences in a venue overlooking the Dubai skyline.
Options include lunch selection Kohaku (Amber) and dinner choices Hisui (Jade) or Ruri (Lapsis Lazuli).
The restaurant features minimalist polished furnishings with dark wood touches and includes a typical Japanese Tokonoma reception area.
Japanese hostesses dressed in traditional kimonos will guide guests to the open counter dining area.
Bulgari described the experience as “ideal for a romantic dinner for two or a special occasion with a small group of friends”.
A private dining room area is also available for larger gatherings and can seat 12 guests with 360-degree views of the Dubai and Arabian Gulf skyline.
The restaurant is open for lunch and dinner from Tuesday to Saturday. Reservations are required given its intimate size.
Lunch is served from 12:30pm to 3:30pm and dinner from 6:30pm to 12:00am with two seatings at 6:30pm and 9:30pm.
The hotel itself opened in December and features 101 traditional rooms, 20 villas, 173 residences and 15 mansions.
Rooms start from Dhs3,500, rising to Dhs9,000 for the Bulgari suites and around Dhs22,000 for the villas.
